some good articles about Islamic State

A few months ago I found Oliver Roy's The Failure of Political Islam. Despite its provocative title, the book itself was amazing and I believe, all muslims who believe Islam need a state (Islamist) have to read the book. It criticized the immaturity concept of Islamic State propaganda which is often spreaded by Islamist such as Ikhwan al-Muslimin, Hizbut at-Tahrir, Negara Islam Indonesia, Darul Islam, Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia, and other islamist political party (whether inside or outside the parlement).

In a khilafah-theme discussion in mailing list Allah-Semata (the name means "Only Allah"), I found some member dreams about a global Islamic government and disregard the plural factor of Indonesia. This kind of attitude is endangered the true-Islamic concept because it will lead to oppresion.

Today, I found some interesting articles written by Muqtedar Khan which are worthy to read. They are:

  1. The Priority of Politics

  2. Islamic State and Religious Minorities

  3. The Compact of Medina: A Constitutional Theory of the Islamic State
Of course, while the word Shura was mentioned in the Quran, there are some questions about Shura itself.

Please read them and think it, ponder it wisely.
